Shin Ultraman has achieved global success within Japan and overseas, culminating in SEVEN nominations at the Japan Academy Prize this year. These include Best Director and the highest prize of the evening, Best Picture! Previously, Higuchi had won Best Picture in 2016 for co-directing Shin Godzilla with Hideaki Anno.
