Shinji Higuchi’s “Shin Ultraman” Has Been Nominated at the Japanese Academy Awards!

Shin Ultraman has achieved global success within Japan and overseas, culminating in SEVEN nominations at the Japan Academy Prize this year. These include Best Director and the highest prize of the evening, Best Picture! Previously, Higuchi had won Best Picture in 2016 for co-directing Shin Godzilla with Hideaki Anno.

Here are the nominations this year:

Best Picture – Shin Ultraman
Best Director – Shinji Higuchi
Best Cinematography -Osamu Ichikawa & Keizo Suzuki
Best Lighting – Sosuke Yoshikado
Best Art Direction –Yuji Hayashida
Best Editing – Yohei Kurihara & Hideaki Anno
Best Newcomer – Daiki Arioka

The folks at Kaiju United will be rooting for Shin Ultraman at the Japan Academy Prize ceremony happening March 10th!
