New GAMERA: REBIRTH Art and Synopsis Revealed! (News)

Revealed at the official press conference regarding the upcoming anime series Gamera: Rebirth today was a brand-new teaser poster and synopsis for the show!

On this poster, we get our first glimpse at the new Gamera design, as well as a potential look at the 2nd of 5 enemy monsters featured in Rebirth, classic Showa-era foe, Jiger!

Synopsis:

In the summer of 1989, sixth graders Boko, Joe, and Junichi:

It was the last summer vacation as an elementary school student. A vague anxiety about the future in each heart. Brody, the son of the commander of the U.S. Forces in Japan, appears before the three of them, stealing the cash that the three boys had saved up for their break from school. Boko plans on attaining the money back, but when their plan is executed, a crisis comes to town. The mighty Gyaos has attacked Tokyo, and is about to destroy the four boys, when a new monster appears, named Gamera. This was the beginning of “Monster Summer” for the four of them. Four more monsters appear, one after another, with Gamera fighting despite being injured. This summer, the boys witness the legend — GAMERA.
