Over the weekend, I attended the KAIJU DAYS’ newest pop-up store located out in Orland Park, Illinois. This pop-up-shop was there over the weekend, and inside the Space Golf. The experience was a blast! It was great seeing figures all around you, art plastered on the walls, and kaiju films playing all day, it was a great day for the kaiju fans to hang out and bond over their love of the genre, and maybe take home a few figures.
It was great being on the ground floor documenting everything happening at the mini show for Kaiju United!
Personally, I deeply enjoyed my time working the pop-up store with my friend, and noted figure designer/creator, Creacher Preature. He makes his own custom 3D printed figures, and sells them regularly at conventions. Getting to man a table with him was the most fun I could have!
I also did a short interview with Nate Thomas and Anthony Koerber for everyone to read on the site! That will be out soon! It was great sitting down and hearing the origins and desired goals for Kaiju Days. It’s important to have smaller, community-focused events like this. Also neat that it can pop up literally anywhere in the local area, given that it’s a pop-up shop.
