To sum up Donny Winter in one sentence would be a feat in of itself. From his days on early kaiju fan message boards on the internet (remember Kaijuphile?), to hosting his own talk show, Growing up with Godzilla, Donny is truly a mainstay and veteran of the giant monster community’s presence on the internet. Starting out writing Godzilla fan fiction, Donny has evolved into a well-respected author, poet, and college professor, publishing three complete poetry collections via Alien Buddha Press. Today, Kaiju United is proud to debut our interview with Donny, and explore the origins of everything he does as a devoted kaiju fan, and how that has influenced his professional and academic career.
