The analog horror movement has captivated YouTube audiences since the days I was in high school, circa 2016. Starting with brilliant creators like Local 58 and The Backrooms, the latter of which is to be turned into motion picture via A24 Pictures, the movement has continued, and has shuffled into specific genres and fandoms. The Godzilla community has embraced this niche video format, and have truly made their mark in creepy content featuring the King of the Monsters. The latest one, simply titled Godzilla 8mm – Found Footage / Analog Horror, showcases an archival audio tape recorded by a journalist in which she talks to a scientist that witnessed (and captured on 8mm film) Godzilla himself. The tape, of course, was confiscated by the United States government, but like all great conspiracies… the truth is out there.
