Special Thanks to Avery Guerra
The amazing revolution of independent kaiju films continues! Keeping the spirit of classic kaiju & henshin fare alive, these passion project films truly feel community-driven and perfectly emulate the pure love of the craft that creators in the Japanese film industry collectively share. Slated to make its English-subtitled and North American Premiere at G-FEST 2024, Kaiju United has been provided with the first look at Kings Fall. Shinobu Date handled directing, editing, and all writing duties, whilst special effects director Asao Goto handling production design and creature/model work. He also served as producer on this project.
Interestingly, the trailer begins with the note:
“This film was created in a workshop where young theatre actors and filmmakers taught 15 children, and some special effects scenes were added to the film.”
Check out the trailer below and catch Kings Fall screening at the G-FEST Film Festival next week! The showcase will be in the International Ballroom on Saturday, July 13. The one and only showtime will be at 11:16 p.m., shortly after the viewing of Bloodspawn.
