Q: Your Biggest Artistic Influences?
I would say my biggest artistic influence is Dario Argento for his use of bright and vibrant colors in Suspiria and Inferno. The same could be said for George Romero’s work with Creepshow. The talented toy photographers in the community are also influences on my work, for example, Figuremaniashow.
Q: What pulled you into the world of toy photography?
It started when I was in elementary school and I discovered the JP Toys website, which had its own dedicated place for peoples’ dioramas. In 2020, my toy photography took off when my brother and I started our YouTube channel. We each had our own show, and I did figure reviews and created my own thumbnails.
Q: Outside of Godzilla/Kaiju Media, what else do you enjoy in your free time?
I love watching movies other than Kaiju movies. I am a huge fan of horror films like Susipira, Creepshow, Friday The 13th, both the Aliens & Predator franchises. Video Games are other big hobbies of mine. Halo, Destiny 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, and Cyberpunk 2077 have some of the best stories in video games. I also build Gunpla kits, which dovetails with Anime.
Q: Favorite Godzilla/Kaiju Flick?
That is a tough one, with so many good movies. I really want to say Godzilla Minus One, since it is such a fantastic film but I am going to go with Godzilla vs Destoroyah. I am a huge fan of the Heisei era of films and Destoroyah is one of my favorites. It has my favorite Godzilla design with Burning Godzilla and Destoroyah is a great villain for Godzilla. The film is such an emotional journey with one of my saddest memories of Godzilla’s meltdown and death burned (no pun intended) into my memory.
Q: What is your favorite Kaiju?
I would say other than Godzilla (of course), it would have to be Anguirus, I think he is the biggest underdog of the Godzilla franchise. He is beaten up by so many different monsters like Godzilla, King Ghidorah, Gigan, and MechaGodzilla, and the guy doesn’t go down without a fight, which I appreciate.
Q: What is the hardest thing about getting a shot? The most rewarding?
The hardest shot has to be a big scene with more than one subject. It is hard to get a clear vision of both subjects that make the shot look really good. The most rewarding shots go back to what I said about Dario Argento; it is the colors. When the color really pops they make a picture for me, especially when it is pretty close to the movie, TV show, or video game aesthetic.
Q: What are you currently working on?
I am always thinking of photography ideas, even if I don’t post for a while. Right now I am trying to expand more into doing photography with Gundam figures and Gunpla kits, as well coming up with new idea with Godzilla, Jurassic Park, and Horror.
Q: Where can we support your work?
You can follow me on Instagram, Bluesky, and Facebook. I also have an Etsy shop where I sell some of my prints.
