Reyes Reviews Toys: Hiya Exquisite Basic “Energized Godzilla”

Let’s get energized!

The newest release from Hiya Toys comes Energized Godzilla. This form is seen in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and is part of the Hiya Toys “Exquisite Basic” Line. So, let’s get the obvious out of the way: IT IS A COLOR VARIATION FIGURE. So besides that, you are getting no new tooling or articulation from this figure that you do not already have from the previously released Godzilla figures from Hiya’s Godzilla X Kong line.

Godzilla carries multiple points of articulation and is scaled at almost six to seven inches in height. Hiya Toys have been great at bringing out highly articulated and detailed Godzilla action figures over the past year. It’s exciting to see how much effort and energy they put into making these legendary Titans from well, Legendary Pictures and Warner Brothers’ Godzilla Monsterverse series. Retailing at $49.99 before tax, this Godzilla is a redeco of the previously released mold of the Godzilla x Kong figurines as stated earlier. The main difference you are going to see on this Godzilla is, of course, the color scheme, which is the energized form of Godzilla that was briefly seen in Godzilla x Kong.

Godzilla comes with an extra pair of hands, which gives you the opportunity to interchange them for a fist or open hand look. Godzilla offers multiple points of articulation, starting with the tail. We will go on up with multi jointed pieces to give full motion and range with the tail for back and forth or up and down action. As we get up towards the hips, you are going to see we got the big Titan hips on there with limited yet still mobile bendable kneecaps as well as ankles that can rotate a little bit left and right and up and down, depending on how you want to pose your Godzilla.

The waist does move back and forth. It is limited only because again, you are playing with Godzilla’s dorsal fins on the back, and they do not give you a lot of mobility for full waist movement. Going up to the arms, you get full up and down shoulders. Again, keep in mind there are limitations to how high it goes because Godzilla can only lift his arms ever so high. But it also allows you to have more dynamic pose options as now you have an extra pair of hands (YAY FOR HANDS). The elbows go up and down and offer you a little bit of rotation to the left and the right as well to give you a little bit of extra as you play with your toy.

My favorite detail part on these Hiya figures is the articulated neck. I am a huge fan of how well they put segmented neck pieces to allow Godzilla’s head to have more of a fluid motion look. As well as more up, down, left, and right motion without causing big gaps. It is not plastic either; more of a durable rubber around the neck. Got to give it a lot of credit! Over at the top of the head, the head is going to offer you a full range of open mouth and tongue movements. The mouth will open all the way, and the tongue
can be adjusted up and down so he can just stick his tongue out or lay flat against the bottom of his jaw. You can see Godzilla’s teeth clearly, each tooth from top to bottom (he should see a dentist).

Now again, the unique feature of this Godzilla is not so much the mold of the Godzilla, it
is the color scheme. You got a beautiful Aqua blue flowing from tip to tail and it is gorgeous just how much it flows on top of Godzilla spinal columns. The details of this Godzilla figure are immensely cared for. They put so much effort into making sure every bump & skin detailing is included in the molds of all their Godzilla action figures. The Energized Godzilla has it all. The blue seeps into every single part, giving you a full ferocious look of how ENERGIZED Godzilla is – every single spinal scale is etched in full from top to bottom, all the way down to his actual mold itself. It is a lot of attention to detail that I cannot help but admire. As a Godzilla fan and as an action figure collector, I am a fan of Hiya. Go unique, go your way, have a fun time playing with this one. I picked this up at Entertainment Earth, where I obtain most of my my Kaiju collectibles. I will be bringing more to you as they come in!

Here are my five reasons why you should own the Hiya Toys EB “Energized” Godzilla:

  1. Size. It is six to seven inches in height and almost 7 to 8 inches in complete length from head to tail.
  2. Articulation. With a big Godzilla figure like this you would almost expect to have
limitations on how well and mobile your pose options can be. Not with this one.
Multi joint detail options give you back and forth movement. Elbows, shoulders,
necks, mouth. Hips all available to adjust to put your Godzilla into your favorite
    pose.
  3. Color Scheme. Energized Godzilla is just a monstrous presence of Godzilla with blue all over, giving him a great shelf look overall. Most Godzillas are gray color schemes, but over the years, Godzilla has had different unique colorations and looks throughout the series, and Energized is no exception. It is a beauty to have.
  4. Weight. This figure has great weight and balance. For what you pay, you get a fantastically detailed figure.
  5. Price. At $49.99, you cannot beat the deal of getting a beautifully articulated and detailed action figure to display on your shelf as you add it to your personal collection to sit, admire, and enjoy. As a Godzilla fan of either the Toho series or the Legendary line, this figure is for you.

I hope you enjoyed the review of the Hiya EB Energized Godzilla action figure. Stay tuned for more!
