Let us have some fun with Funko POP! Godzilla Vinyls!
Godzilla has been celebrating 70 years and Funko has been right behind it, bringing in some of the cutest and coolest little collectibles that you can find currently on the market. The one I want to highlight today is going to be one of my top favorites from the recently released waves of POPs – the GameStop exclusive Jumbo Funko Pop Mecha-King Ghidorah. Now I know we can have 100s to 1000s of Funko Pops in our collections, but I will be honest with you right now. When it comes to Funko Pops and Godzilla, you can never have enough kaiju pops invading your collection (seriously, it’s crazy). The Mecha-Ghidorah Funko Pop is a GameStop exclusive and is one of the coolest character designs (in my opinion) in Godzilla villain history. Mecha-King Ghidorah is from the 90’s series of Godzilla films and is one of the best King Ghidorah iterations throughout the generations of designs.
This one, made by Funko, gives you the cutest version of a King Ghidorah. You get the iconic big round Funko eyes on each of the three heads of MKG, with the Mecha head in between sporting adorable big green robotic eyes. When you look at the center head, it almost looks like he is smiling and looking right at you! Whereas the other two lively heads are amusingly looking to the left and the right.
This Funko has some great details, too. From ridges to scales, the detail is clear and vibrant, with the gold and silver paint work shining through every detail. Finally, with big mecha wings ready for flight, or just to your shelf, this pop, well, literally POPS on display. Priced at $24.99 before tax, it is a great deal and one of the most fun grabs I have gotten from the Funko line of Godzilla characters. I will be collecting them all because, well, heck, it is Godzilla and Funko (fan of both). It is a great pop pickup.
