Special Thanks to Avery Guerra
After much fanfare and excitement coming out of G-FEST (the largest Kaiju & Tokusatsu-centric convention in the world), buzz around Kaiju: Island of Fire has never been bigger. Fans at the convention were treated to flyers showcasing the brand-new poster for the film in both English and Japanese after being previously revealed by Bloody Disgusting. That’s not it, however, as Kaiju United is here to exclusively reveal the film’s latest crew member joining the production!
Nicholas Hatfield will be joining the film as their Scenic Artist, bringing a visual flair to the film. Hatfield is no stranger to creature features, having Art Department credits in two Godzilla flicks, 2016’s Shin Godzilla and 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters, as well as other credits in films such as Loki, WandaVision and a few of the Hunger Games films. This is just one of many kaiju veterans that will be joining the film’s all-star lineup cast & crew.
In the creature feature, “A combined military task force travels to an ancient Japanese Island, searching for the missing members of a construction team, currently in the process of building a new military base. Once there, they find a foreboding, fiery landscape that hides a terrifying threat, capable of destroying them…and all who venture near.”
From NorthStar Pictures JP, Kaiju: Island of Fire is directed by former Hollywood stuntman turned filmmaker Andrew L. Phillips (World War Z, The Dark Knight Rises, Captain America: The First Avenger), and stars Robert Scott Field (Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah), Chuck Wilson, and Kent Gilbert.
Additionally, the cast is rounded out by Wes Wing, Tom Constantine (Snake Eyes), Tomoko Ai (Terror Of Mechagodzilla), Masaaki Neguchi, Linda Miller (King Kong Escapes), Carl Craig (Gamera vs Viras), and Inge Murata (Shin Godzilla, Monster X Strikes Back).
The film is now in production in Japan and set for release in 2026. James H. Christy and Avery Guerra serve as producers.
