Godzilla Will Meet The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles This November in IDW Crossover

Today at San Diego Comic-Con, IDW Publishing held their Godzilla: Enter the Kai-Sei Era panel that showcased the Godzilla comics publisher’s plans for the King of the Monsters going forward. At the panel, moderated by Aaron Gregory (Toho International, Inc.) and featuring creators Tim Seeley, Oliver Ono, Ethan Parker, Griffin Sheridan, and Jake Williams (editor), there was a bombshell announcement….

This November, Godzilla will come face-to-face with the Heroes in a Half Shell themselves, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

Written by Tim Seeley (Godzilla) and illustrated by TMNT veteran artist Fero Pe, the comic’s synopsis gives us an interesting premise right out the gate: tying the infamous and villainous Foot Clan to some interesting kaiju origins.

“Long before the organization was corrupted by Shredder, the Foot Clan’s original purpose was to save Japan from kaiju! Now, in the present day, the villainous ninja is attempting to use the kaiju to create a new mutagen—one that would give his henchman a massive upgrade.

Can the Turtles make it to Japan in time to stop this madness?!

Join superstar writer Tim Seeley and incredible artist Fero Pe in the biggest crossover of the year!

Additionally, IDW’s Godzilla Editor, Jake Williams, commented on the crossover potential of these two beloved franchises, telling Forbes, “There are maybe two or three other ideas in the entire cultural landscape that are as instantly iconic, as perfect in their clarity and conception, as the King of the Monsters and the heroes in a half-shell,” said Jake Williams, editor of the series for IDW, who had words of praise for his creative team. “Mashing them up has been a complete and utter joy. These characters are so perfectly realized that working on this comic feels like bearing witness to a natural encounter between living and breathing beings.”
