TMNT x Godzilla Figures Announced, Coming to Stores in October

Hot off the announcement that Godzilla would be crossing over with The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in comic form this November, it was announced by Playmates Toys and Toho’s official Godzilla website that a whole line of TMNT/Godzilla mash-up figures would be available in stores (Target first, it seems) starting in October. Playmates is also known for handling the Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire toy line, extending it into their MonsterVerse line of toys with creatures such as the Frost Vark from Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.

So far, we’ve only got word on Wave 1 of this line, which will include Raphael as Rodan, Michelangelo as King Ghidorah, and Leonardo as Godzilla. No word has been said yet about the whereabouts of Donatello, the last Ninja Turtle of the iconic bunch, but we’re confident we’ll see him in another wave. Speculation in our comment threads theorize that he will be Mechagodzilla, since the classic 80’s TMNT theme song loudly exclaims, ‘Donatello does machines!”

Playmates Toys also commented on the new line, stating “Mutants and monsters mash up in this epic TMNT x Godzilla cross-over, combining elements from the classic 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles TV series with the nostalgic styling of the 1978 Godzilla animated TV series. It’s time to shell-ebrate some unique Cowabunga Kaiju, dudes!”

Stay tuned for further developments on this toy line at Kaiju United!
