The baseball-tokusatsu connection continues to shine! As part of a special agreement between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Tsuburaya Productions, it has been announced that Ultraman will appear at the August 26th home game against the Cincinnati Reds for a ceremonial first pitch alongside Hidetoshi Yamamoto, President and Group CEO of Tsuburaya Fields Holdings, and Ultraman’s extraterrestrial nemesis, Alien Baltan.
Before the game begins, Ultraman will also appear at CenterField Plaza to meet fans and take photos, giving the baseball community a wonderful pre-game opportunity that is fun for the entire family. Additionally, an “Ultraman Fan Cam” will be on during the game itself, giving fans a chance to show off their best Ultra Hero pose on the DodgerVision screens, as well as other forms of themed entertainment. This is all part of various initiatives, events, and brand collaborations Tsuburaya Productions will be doing to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Ultra Series, which will occur next year in 2026.
“Having Ultraman step onto the field at the legendary Dodger Stadium is a further celebration of how sports and pop culture unite fans across generations,” said Hidetoshi Yamamoto, chairman of Tsuburaya Fields Holdings. “We are thrilled to have Ultraman join the team, even if just for a moment, for a day of fun the whole family can enjoy!”

This event comes off of the heels of Ultraman: The Hero Premiere making a big splash at G-FEST last month in Chicago, and will serve as a special collab event ahead of the major live stage show coming to the American Dream this November, Ultraman Live.
Previously, Dodger Stadium has also hosted various other pop culture events, including movie nights (they’re screening Hook next!) and special anime-themed events, such as Demon Slayer Night and One Piece Night, highlighting the massive cultural boom that anime and other Japanese properties have seen in recent years.
