The cult classic Godzilla film is back and better than ever. Announced by Beyond Fest yesterday as part of their 2025 lineup, 2004’s Godzilla: Final Wars will be screened in 4K at the long-running Los Angeles-based film festival, which will take place from September 23rd to October 8th. Other films included in Beyond Fest’s lineup include premieres of NO OTHER CHOICE, DUST BUNNY, THE FURIOUS, and GOOD FORTUNE. The entire lineup consists of a whopping 8 World Premieres, 5 North American Premieres, 9 U.S. Premieres, 25 West Coast Premieres for a total of 90 feature films. Filmmakers such as Guillermo del Toro and John Carpenter, as well as Japanese icon Meiko Kaji, are also slated to make special in-person appearances at the festival.
Final Wars will screen on October 3rd at 10:15PM at Aero Theatre Presented by NEON. The screening will be accompanied by a special Q&A with the film’s director, Ryuhei Kitamura, in which he will introduce the film and answer a few questions from moderator Graham Skipper. The film will play in DCP format, and is brought to Beyond Fest by Toho and GKIDS, an interesting development for fans who want to see this film return to the big screen. Tickets are $19 and available now on the Beyond Fest website.
