Ultraman Will Appear at LA Comic Con 2025 With Screenings, Panel, and Tournament

Ultraman’s next major convention appearance in the United States has been announced by Tsuburaya Productions. Next week, on September 26-28th, Ultraman will make his grand return at this year’s LA Comic Con, and is bringing some exciting announcements, festivities, and events to the Los Angeles convention for fans to experience and enjoy.

Not only will Tsuburaya Productions have a booth at the show (#5225 in the South Hall of the convention center), there will be two special premiere screenings at the convention: The first will be the United States Premiere of Ultraman 4K Discovery, which will highlight a new 4K remastering of select episodes from the classic 1966 original series. This will be held Sunday, September 28th at 12:00pm. For those that have been inquiring about an English dub for the newest series in the long running franchise, there will be a special sneak preview of the first two episodes of Ultraman Omega‘s new English dub on Saturday, September 27th at 1:00PM.

Alongside those screenings, Tsuburaya Productions will reveal what’s to come next with the “Ultraman in America Update” panel on Saturday, September 27th at 2:00pm in the West Hall Stage. Here, fans can watch a discussion about Ultraman’s exciting expansion into the United States and all of the various licensees, events, and more. During the panel, the Ultra community will get highlights of the Ultra Academy middle grade book series (Beware the Baleful Baltan will release September 23rd, three days before LA Comic Con begins), and Titan Books’ second novelization, Ultraseven, written by Pat Cadigan. There will also be more updates about upcoming Marvel Comics projects, indicating that Ultraman’s licensed comics at the publisher will see a return after the trade paperback release of Ultraman x Avengers.

Additionally, at the official Tsuburaya Productions booth, attendees will have the opportunity to meet Sky Turtle Nova author Rebecca Reynolds, who will be signing a special edition LA Comic Con exclusive bookplate with the purchase of The Ultra Academy Book One: Beware The Baleful Baltan. Plus, PopCulture USA will highlight the expanding Ultraman Card Game at the table, with an official Rise Cup Tournament taking place in the LACC Gaming Area on Sunday, September 28 at 12pm. As a bonus incentive, players who register for the tournament will receive a 12% discount on their LA Comic Con admission.

The Los Angeles convention continues to grow, reportedly bringing in over 126,000 attendees last year. Additionally, the event featured over 250 panels and over 800 artists and vendors in 2024, showcasing a commitment to expanding its programming and exhibitors, this year. Ultraman’s presence at LACC marks another major appearance at US-based pop culture conventions after San Diego Comic-Con and New York Comic Con hosted the Ambassador of Light in previous years. Ultraman is also no stranger to LA, with this event coming right after the recent “Ultraman Night” at Dodger Stadium last month.
