Veteran voice actor Shunsuke Takeuchi has been cast in Kill Blue, an upcoming adaptation of the Shōnen manga of the same name. After recent roles in Fist of the North Star: Hokuto no Ken, Kaiju No. 8, and Gachiakuta, Takeuchi-san lends his voice in this new role as the adult version of Jūzō Ōgami with depth and intensity. Known for his award-winning work including other roles such as The Producer in The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls, Alexander Yamato in King of Prism, Jūza Hyōdo in A3!, and Revolver in Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS, this role is yet another one to add to his lengthy and prestigious career. This is also the latest adaptation of a Shōnen Jump title, so there is sure to be plenty of buzz about the anime leading up to its release in 2026.
Takeuchi has also provided a statement on the announcement of his casting:
“Jūzō has the mind of an adult but the body of a child, so at first I thought I might need to do some detective work—but it seems that’s not the case! What a relief!
I’ve often been told I seem a bit older than my age, so I feel a certain kinship with this character.
All of the characters in KILL BLUE are incredibly expressive, and I’m excited to pop in from time to time and watch over their energetic interactions.
Please look forward to KILL BLUE!”
