A Coney Island Tribute With a Kaiju Twist
This year, Bandai is transforming its Godzilla booth into a tribute to Coney Island, Brooklyn’s legendary boardwalk amusement park. The setting merges iconic New York landmarks with monster mayhem, blending nostalgia and larger-than-life kaiju spectacle. Visitors can stroll a boardwalk lined with Gashapon machines, step into a New York City subway station and train car frozen in chaos, and look up to see Godzilla scaling a reimagined Cyclone roller coaster, now renamed the “Godzilla.” Nearby, Mothra and King Ghidorah battle beside the Wonder Wheel, turning the entire booth into an experience that feels part carnival funhouse, part monster movie come to life.
The attractions for Bandai’s Godzilla-themed booth go beyond the Coney Island thrills. The fan favorite Godzilla meet and greet returns, joined by new experiences like airbrush tattoos and Godzilla-themed face painting. Attendees can pick up tickets in advance for each activity, which will help manage lines and also serve as keepsakes. With no limit on how many tickets can be picked up, fans can keep returning to the booth throughout the entire NYCC weekend.
The Godzilla Gazette Hits the Convention Floor
Adding to the classic New York atmosphere, roaming newsies will hand out copies of the “Godzilla Gazette” at NYCC. Styled like an old-fashioned newspaper, it doubles as a product catalog, a Godzilla booth schedule guide, and a playful in-world chronicle of a kaiju takeover.
Exclusive Collectibles for Dedicated Fans
Collectors will also find plenty to get excited about. Tamashii Nations is bringing back its Godzilla Minus One figure, which quickly sold out when it was offered at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year. Meanwhile, Bandai’s toy team is returning with a limited edition golden Godzilla Minus One variant that made its debut at last year’s NYCC, giving fans another chance to add this coveted piece to their collection.
New Adventures at the IDW Publishing Booth
The world of Godzilla comics is also making a splash at NYCC. IDW Publishing will host signings with creative talent throughout the weekend, giving fans the chance to meet the artists and writers behind the latest monster stories. As an added bonus, IDW is releasing a convention exclusive cover for Starship Godzilla by Urban Aztec, a striking collectible that blends kaiju power with bold urban art.
