HE’S BACK! Kurt Russell Officially Returns for ‘Monarch’ Season 2

After an intriguing and mysterious exclusive from Kaiju News Outlet dropped this morning, AppleTV has officially confirmed that iconic actor Kurt Russell will reprise his role as Lee Shaw in the upcoming second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. While further details are being kept under wraps at this time, his appearance marks the end of frequent community discussion pertaining to his survival after the climactic first season’s finale.

This new season comes as Legendary and Apple have renewed their deal for more MonsterVerse content, including potential spin-off shows. The MonsterVerse is a billion dollar franchise, with its latest cinematic entry, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire raking in $572 million USD at the worldwide box office. The film’s upcoming sequel Godzilla x Kong: Supernova has wrapped filming and is expected to hit theaters in March 2027.
