Review: ‘Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong II’ #6

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! Fans of this lengthy crossover series were treated with quite the gift when Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong II #6 dropped on Christmas Eve. As the penultimate volume to the finale #7 set to be released on January 28, 2026, this issue does plenty of exciting set-up for what will be a bonkers finale. In terms of how this issue stands on its own, it perhaps is not as starkly as exciting as other installments in this series, simply because there is less action and not many super standout moments, but still has plenty of good things going on.

Finally, the subplot of Barry’s marriage and identity hiding from his wife is addressed. He goes back to meet with her and finds Wally (and enlists the latter’s help), when she quite hilariously reveals how she knows both of their secret identities. Things don’t look any clearer as 6 titans are still out and about wreaking havoc: Godzilla, Kong, Ghidorah, Rodan, Scylla, and Behemoth. Batman is nowhere to be seen, and he remains nowhere to be seen throughout this issue which is interesting to note.

The rest of the issue plays out with other forces being introduced to the fray that will undoubtedly make issue 7 a trademark finale. Some major players from Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire appear, and it begins to become clear that King Ghidorah is rallying together an army. Meanwhile, another titanization, this time Cheetah, stages a rumbling and physical bout with Kong. The issue caps off with another unexpected guest appearing and making an epic transformation that leaves everyone on their seats!

Considering this is a penultimate volume, the slight slowing down and emphasis on setup is expected. Perhaps that makes it weaker compared to other issues, but in the bigger picture, there is nothing wrong with that! Just better prepares things for an epic finale in issue 7 that will be difficult to predict.

The team of Christian Duce, Brian Buccalleto, and Luis Guerrero have put together a strong series that has been treating readers well these past 6 months. The series finale will undoubtedly be an exciting and interesting conclusion, and it’s hard to guess how things will play out!

Overall Score: 7.5/10

Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong 2 #6 commits to plenty of intriguing setup and circumstances that leave readers excited for what will be an exciting finale.
