Cute Kaiju Kids’ Graphic Novel Now on Kickstarter

What’s the best way to get little ones into the world of monsters? Stories aimed at them, of course. That’s not to say that they can’t enjoy some of the classics with you, but at a certain age, it’s nice to have those kinds of stories that feature monsters, but are kid-friendly in nature. The team at Monster Forge Productions has brought the latest one to life – as well as two other stories – and is now funding on Kickstarter from writer Shannon Eric Denton and illustrator Chris Gugliotti.

Titled Isle of Monsters and the Little Kaiju’s BIG Adventure, the book explores themes of bravery when you feel small and the joy of finding where you belong as one small hero sets out on the adventure of a lifetime. If you love kaiju, kindness, and pure visual fun, this one’s for you (and of course, the little ones in your life). Illustrator Chris Gugliotti brings thunderous energy and warmth to every page with bold colors, expressive character designs, and a cinematic sense of scale. Massive monsters stomp, roar, joke, and bond in a world bursting with personality.

Isle of Monsters has also received acclaim from various figures in the comics industry:

“A big-hearted, monster-sized story about curiosity, kindness, and discovering who you are… one kaiju stomp at a time.” —Doug Wagner (World of Warcraft: Bloodsworn, Legends of the Dark Knight, and Witchblade/Red Sonja)

“Another adorable mini-monster take from Chris G.” —Erica Schultz (Spawn: Rat City, Laura Kinney: Wolverine)

“I’m a big Chris Gugliotti fan (and that Shannon Eric Denton guy too!) and I’m looking forward to a story that explores what bravery, curiosity, and scale look like! This little Kaiju has to navigate the perilous bigger footprints ahead and you can join in on the adventure!” Franco (Aw Yeah Comics, Tiny Titans, Itty Bitty Hellboy)

If that’s not enough to adore you, the book even has a theme song by punk band The Anti-Bodies, truly giving this book points for one of the most unique ways to promote a kaiju property. Check it out below, as well as some other preview pages from the book. Stay tuned for more updates on Kaiju United.
