Cute Indie Kaiju Game Now Available to Wishlist on Steam

The latest kaiju video game is arriving soon, and it looks spectacularly adorable. Myth & Mortar’s debut title, Gido Gido: Kaiju Battle Party, is now available to wishlist on Steam after releasing its initial launch trailer. The 4v4 online co-op party battler lets players merge together into powerful, multi-headed kaiju for chaotic, squad-driven action in a bustling, fully destructible city.

Fans looking for something that is Rampage meets GigaBash with a bit of a unique party game twist will want to keep their eyes peeled when the game releases in Q4 2026, but for the few that have had their interest peaked, you can apply for beta testing right now on their official Discord server.

Developed by Myth & Mortar, Metatheory’s Taiwan-based game studio led by producer Maso Lin (The Legend of Tianding), Gido Gido sees “adorable monsters known as Gido battle for territory using unique abilities, including fireball blasts, goo traps, defensive shields, and stun attacks.” With the right powerups or amount of combat-earned energy, teammates can fuse into a single, larger Gido, combining their powers and sharing control to unleash explosive, coordinated attacks. This aforementioned fusion system allows two or four players to guide a single merged creature, synchronizing movement and abilities for strategic, high-impact play. Matches are fast-paced and party-friendly, with accessible controls, short sessions, and high replayability.

Some of the key game features seen in Gido Gido include:

● 4v4 online kaiju party battles built around squad-based chaos
● Fusion-based gameplay that merges teammates into powerful multi-headed Gido
● Distinct character abilities that combine in unique ways when fused, including fireball
blasts, goo pools, large defensive shields, and powerful stun attacks
● Shared control mechanics that reward coordination and timing
● A cozy, fully destructible city designed for spectacular kaiju-scale destruction
● Power-ups earned through environmental destruction, enabling healing, buffs, and
fusion
● Ongoing content roadmap featuring new Gido, abilities, maps, and modes

“Gido Gido is all about the joy of playing together,” said producer Maso Lin. “We built a cozy world with
adorable monsters and simple controls, then layered in fast-paced battles and a fusion system designed to create a new kind of cooperative experience. The fusion feature is an idea I’ve carried for almost a decade, and this is the first time I’ve been able to bring it to life in a way that truly feels fun and dynamic for players.”

Art Director Ruby Tsai, who also collaborated with Lin on The Legend of Tianding, crafted the game’s visual identity after being inspired by Americana media. “I wanted Gido Gido to feel loud, colorful, and playful, drawing inspiration from modern Americana cartoons and comics,” said Tsai. “Bold shapes, vibrant colors, and exaggerated details give every kaiju personality while maintaining strong readability during fast-paced gameplay.”

Myth & Mortar operates under Metatheory, a gaming and technology company founded by Kevin Lin (co-founder of Twitch), JT Gleason, and David Barthwell. “Supporting Myth & Mortar reflects our commitment to imaginative multiplayer experiences,” said Kevin Lin. “Gido Gido’s fusion mechanic and vibrant world make it a standout addition to the genre.”

Gido Gido: Kaiju Battle Party is available to wishlist now on Steam. Players can join the official Discord to apply for beta testing and follow the team on social media for updates.
