BE A PART OF KAIJU UNITED! THE 2024 CONTRIBUTOR CALL

Hello, everyone! This is KU Headquarters speaking. It’s been an absolutely incredible inaugural year for Kaiju United. I never would have expected us to go right to the moon with the love and support of the kaiju and tokusatsu community right behind us. We have interviewed a whopping fourteen special guests, twelve individuals in our community, and have published too many reviews, news drops, and articles to count! I personally got to speak with SIX actors that have given life to our beloved kaiju in the movies on stage at conventions. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the movement behind KU. We couldn’t have delivered such an amazing community experience without the painstaking work of our heroes — the contributors that give us their time and energy to volunteer and submit pieces for readers and listeners to enjoy.

That being said, it’s time for SEASON 2! We’re expanding our horizons and looking ahead to this upcoming year. We already have so much in the pipeline coming up that I can’t share just yet, but we are opening our doors once more for any and all contributors to join us! Since the announcement of Nick Crispino joining our staff, we are planning to expand to video content, more reviews, and different ways to bring the community together! We’re looking for writers, artists, musicians, any kind of contribution to highlight the love you have for Godzilla, Ultraman, Kamen Rider, or anybody else under the kaiju and tokusatsu umbrella. Do you have something to say? A movie to analyze? Do you have art, cosplay, or music that you want featured on the site? Let us know!

Some specific things we are looking for this year — toy reviews, book reviews, a frequent news contributor, video content creators, archival and home video fanatics, and more! We’d also love to give members of our community the opportunity to audition to handle interviews. We have high expectations and standards for these pieces, as we want guests to feel like KU is the best place to get interviewed in regard to the world of giant monsters. There’s also a nice demand for event coverage, panelists, and documentarians, as we’re looking to be the pinnacle site for conventions to reach out to for press and coverage.

I’m aware that this all sounds like a job for a gigantic fan, but fear not if you’re not a hardcore devotee! We love adjacent content and new, fresh perspectives. The only thing that matters is correct information, enticing and engaging pieces, and a genuine positive and loving outlook on the series, even if you’re new! There will be people in this fandom that got exposed to this amazing world through stuff released in 2023, such as Godzilla: Minus One. We welcome both amateur and professional writers alike and serve as a developmental house for upcoming writers in the community. Remember, Stephen King once was a kid that submitted to Famous Monsters of Filmland!

So please, contact us through this form, or send an email to our staff, and we will get you going! We cannot wait to expand and grow even further this year with you all. KAIJU UNITED is here to stay, and we’re going to bring the house down this year! See you on Kaiju United!
