Soon after the reveal of Malaysia’s first ever giant monster movie, another country is joining the giant monster craze: Egypt! After initially screening Oscar: Return of the Mammoth in its home country, Trend VFX is now eyeing an international audience for this new flick. Known for their Netflix creature feature Mako, the film is a “sci-fi action tale of a mammoth resurrected through genetic experiments.” The synopsis continues, adding “The giant creature mysteriously appears in Cairo, growing rapidly as chaos unfolds in the heart of the city.”
While more details are currently being left mysterious, it appears that Oscar the Mammoth will be facing off against some kind of dinosaurian threat in the heart of Cairo. The new creature feature is being directed by Hesham EL-Rashidy, with Mohamed Tantawy and Ahmed Shehata serving as producers. Oscar‘s screenplay was drafted by Moustafa Askar and Hamed Alsharab. and the ensemble cast includes Ahmed Salah Hosny, Hanady Mehana, Mohamed Tharwat, Liya Swidan, Ahmed AL-Bayed, Mai Al-Kady, and Mahmoud Abdelmoghny.
