Soaring in from the skies… it’s… the Giant Condor?
That’s right, the obscure kaiju that made an impression on kaiju fans everywhere in a brief appearance 60 years ago in Ebirah, Horror of the Deep now has a t-shirt entirely to itself. The Giant Condor, often humorously and fondly remembered as one of the more obscure characters to grace the Godzilla franchise, has seen a sort-of renaissance amongst Godzilla enthusiasts in the United States, with this t-shirt being a hot item after its announcement as a Godzilla Day Exclusive for the Godzilla Store US.
The shirt features a snapshot of that chaotic, brief battle, with Godzilla facing off against the mysterious creature, both ready for a showdown that would end up going down in Showa history. The shirt also features a tribute to the deceased Giant Condor, with the text “Appeared briefly. Died instantly. Remembered eternally.” Humorously reminding us of the great sacrifice this noble beast made, in a fight that it would never win. The shirt is also 100% cotton, giving kaiju fans a comfy yet amusingly stylish choice for their kaiju-themed apparel.
