Watch out, San Diego Comic-Con attendees! The King of the Monsters is heading for America’s Finest City this July in an all-new one-shot from the Godzilla vs. America series of books. This isn’t the first time Godzilla has attacked SDCC, but it will certainly be a fun highlight of the city and its culture, and of course, the biggest convention in the world has to be a part of it. Godzilla vs. San Diego will hit comic shops on July 22nd, and will feature stories by Stan Sakai (Usagi Yojimbo), Greg & Fake (Santos Sisters), Dan Jurgens (The Death of Superman, and the homage variant cover for IDW’s Godzilla #6), as well as additional creators that will be announced at a later time.
Godzilla vs. America has taken the King of the Monsters to some of America’s greatest cities, including Chicago, Los Angeles, Kansas City, and Portland. Interestingly, because the state is so big and full of iconic cities, it appears that Godzilla will ravage the entire state of Texas when the next installment in this series of one-shots drops on May 13th in Godzilla vs. Texas, which will notably feature a story from Matt Frank. Godzilla.com also added, “Godzilla vs. America continues its cross-country run one stop at a time, with more cities still waiting in the wings,” so it appears that Texas and San Diego will not be the final stop for this national destruction tour.
