After an entire afternoon of speculation, we can confirm that Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered is REAL, and the trailer looks EPIC! The trailer showcases some beautiful looking renders of Godzilla ’90s and King Ghidorah 1991 in their wonderful HD glory… along with the surprise reveal of MECHAGODZILLA 1974! With the original game having 11 playable monsters and this game being confirmed to have twelve, it seems like the classic iteration of Godzilla’s mechanical doppelganger made it into the roster of the remaster as a bonus.
Along with the confirmation of a November 3rd release date (Godzilla Day!), Atari/Pipeworks has confirmed that the game has been “remastered from the ground up to enhance the cinematic experience of the original.” The game will also feature 8 locations to brawl your friends at, improved unlock systems, and additional single-player campaigns for each kaiju. For those looking to recreate the good ol’ days with your friends, the game will support local co-op experiences as well as an all-new online multiplayer mode. Whether or not Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered will support cross-platform multiplayer remains to be seen, but the game will become available on Steam, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S.
