Godzilla & Evangelion DLC Coming to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
Godzilla’s entered a golden age of third party crossovers! After his grand appearance in the mobile game Sonic Rush and the King of the Monsters’ upcoming appearance in IDW publishing’s Sonic the Hedgehog x Godzilla, it has now been confirmed by SEGA at Summer Game Fest that the next wave of DLCs will begin with a Godzilla-themed one. At this time, the only solid confirmation we have is a new racing track in which Godzilla is a stage hazard called Godzilla Escape, but there could be more announced later, as the official announcement from SEGA states “These larger-than-life characters and other challengers are zooming into the CrossWorlds to shake up each race.”
Additionally, the second DLC will be Evangelion-themed, adding to the roster of kajiu/anime-centric crossovers that will inhabit this Super Smash Bros-esque racing game full of guest characters. From the glimpses we have seen, it appears that EVA-01 will share a similar role to Godzilla, being there as a gigantic stage hazard, but in this wild world of racing, anything can happen. The upcoming track featuring the EVA-01 will be titled Tokyo III and be the second DLC in Wave 2 for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.
Do we want Godzilla to drive a race car? Absolutely. It seems unlikely, but it would make our entire week. Trailer below!
