Kazuhiro Yoshida, the suit actor best known in the Tokusatsu community for portraying Gigan & Hedorah in Godzilla: Final Wars (2004), has passed away. His passing was confirmed by his wife on September 24, 2026, who announced Yoshida died on September 23 due to a subarachnoid hemorrhage.
Though much of Yoshida’s personal life remained private, his work left a ever lasting impression on fans of Tokusatsu. His incredible stunt work brought Gigan to life.
In his later years, Yoshida became more interactive with fans on social media, sharing brief glimpses of what he’s been doing and even interacting with other members’ posts in the Toku community…especially Gigan posts.
Away from his film stunt work, Yoshida performed as a local hero in 2021, taking on the character Gambi Ri based in Kasuya, Fukuoka.
