Toy Robot Video Announces 4K Remaster of ‘Guyver: Dark Hero’

New home video company Toy Robot Video has officially announced that Guyver: Dark Hero will be receiving a brand-new 4K remaster. Revealed on May 22, the forthcoming release is currently planned as a 2-disc set, though full details and specifications have yet to be revealed.

Released in 1994, Guyver: Dark Hero serves as the sequel to the 1991 live-action film The Guyver, both based on the manga Bio Booster Armor Guyver by Yoshiki Takaya. The film follows Sean Barker, portrayed by David Hayter, learning to host an alien biomechanical suit called the Guyver before the evil Kronos Corporation discovers the secrets behind the Guyver’s extraterrestrial origins. The film has since obtained a loyal cult following, with many preferring its action-packed tone compared to the more body horror-centric predecessor.

Before this announcement, the film’s previous physical media release was 20 years ago, on a DVD release in 2006.

Additional information regarding release date, packaging, and special features is expected to be announced at a later time.
